Design meets integration: Nucleus at WOW!house 2025

The boundaries between technology and interior design blurred more than ever at WOW!house 2025 and no one demonstrated that better than Nucleus.

The London-based integrator was a key contributor to several standout spaces in this year’s showhouse, marking a notable shift in how smart home professionals are being embraced by the high-end design world.

WOW!house, held throughout June 2025 at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, brought together more than 20 world-class interior designers across 22 full-sized rooms and outdoor spaces. This year, custom install professionals like Nucleus played a more prominent role than ever, showing just how far smart home technology has come from being an afterthought to becoming an integral design partner.

“We sponsored the media room with Alex Dauley at WOW!house 2025 because it aligned perfectly with our mission to push boundaries in immersive AV design,” explains Durgesh Sinh, founding director at Nucleus. “Alex’s vision offered a platform to showcase not just technology, but how AV can enhance emotion, mood, and storytelling in a space.”

Dauley’s media room became a centrepiece of the show’s convergence of design and tech. A 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos system featuring KEF’s Ci-THX in-wall speakers and dual subwoofers was paired with an Anthem AVM 70 processor and amplifiers for high-end audio performance. A Kaleidescape server and Sony 77-in OLED display delivered a true cinematic experience, while a Crestron Home system provided seamless control. Lighting and shading were handled through Lutron’s HomeWorks QSX, with elegant Alisse keypads completing the look.

From early collaboration in late 2024 through to a fast-paced installation period just days before opening, Nucleus worked closely with Dauley to realise a space that was both emotionally rich and technically refined. The final result? A media room that concealed complexity beneath clean lines and gave visitors a glimpse of what’s possible when AV and interior design evolve together.

But the media room was just one of several projects for Nucleus this year. In 1508 London’s dramatic primary bathroom, the team delivered lighting control that mirrored the room’s theme of cyclical calm and rejuvenation, using Lutron systems to guide users from ritual to relaxation. In Staffan Tollgård’s study, technology became sculpture, with a B&O system integrated so subtly it felt part of the cabinetry. And outside, on Randle Siddeley’s garden terrace, Nucleus blended a Paradigm 8.1 Landscape Oasis speaker system and professional Sony displays into a classical garden aesthetic, creating a space that merged media with nature.

For Sinh, the significance of WOW!house is clear: “Shows like WOW!house are vital. They give AV specialists a stage to demonstrate how integration can be emotionally and architecturally harmonious. It’s where design and tech visibly meet and where the future of our industry is shaped.”

That future looks increasingly collaborative. As more interior designers embrace the value of invisible yet impactful technology, shows like WOW!house may prove to be essential proving grounds, not just for beautiful spaces, but for building lasting partnerships between disciplines.
