Acer has expanded its range of home entertainment solutions launching a new 4K ultra-short-throw (UST) laser projector as well as two new monitors ideal for gamers.
Acer L811 Laser Projector
Designed to bring a big home cinema experience into a small space, the Acer L811 ultra-short-throw laser projector can display a 120” projection from just 1.02ft away. It also offers HDR10-compatible 4K resolution and 3,000 lumens of brightness. Its 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio means deep blacks, providing further enhanced image quality.
Acer LumiSense technology is featured which analyses content frame-by-frame to dynamically adjust brightness levels to provide the best image quality possible. The content can also be projected in 3D at 144 Hz 24P via 3D Blu-ray.
Enhancing the video further, the Acer L811 UST projector has low input lag and an option for 240 Hz at 1080p. It also features two built-in 10W speakers which are enhanced with Acer TrueHarmony technology. Furthermore, Acer’s EcoProjection technology reduces standby power consumption by up to 66% in order to extend the laser’s lifespan to 30,000 hours. The projector also supports 24/7 continuous projection when needed.
A variety of content options are preloaded onto the projector through an app market, allowing users to enjoy streaming services, social media platforms, and more straight out of the box with no wires needed. Users can also wirelessly mirror content via Miracast if using Android or Windows devices, or via EShare if using iOS.
Its IP6X ‘dust-tight’ certification allows the projector to be used in dusty or outdoor environments.
Nitro XV2 Series Monitor
Acer has also launched its Nitro XV272U KF 27” WQHD monitor, ideal for gaming. It features a 300 Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, while AMD FreeSync Premium Technology further enhances visual performance by varying the display’s refresh rate to match that of the GPU and eliminating choppy gameplay.
Its low 0.5ms response time ensures action scenes and fast gameplay is smooth and clear rather than blurry. Acer Black Boost technology makes it easier to pick out details such as hidden enemies in darker environments.
The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, taking advantage of 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and Delta E<1 colour accuracy rating to make games more lifelike. High contrast and vivid colours are delivered even at wide viewing angles with Acer’s Agile-Splendor IPS panel, while Acer Vision Care 3.0 technology brings several features that may help to reduce eye strain during prolonged use, such as adjusting the displays brightness accordingly depending on the amount of ambient light. Acer ColourSense also matches the display’s colour temperature to that of the surrounding environment.
Its Ergostand means that users can adjust the Nitro XV272U to the perfect viewing angle, adjusting its tilt, height, swivel and pivot. The Acer Display Widget is a tool that allows gamers to automatically adjust colour settings and choose from a range of 11 preset screen-snap configurations to simplify the process of keeping multiple windows tidy.
Acer CB273U Monitor
Acer has also introduced its new Acer CB273U 27” WQHD IPS monitor, designed for more than just gameplay. The monitor displays vivid 8-bit colours, ideal for photo editing and design, while its HDR10 support allows for deeper blacks and more brilliant whites, presenting colours in the Delta E<1 colour accuracy. When gaming, AMD FreeSync makes game play smoother and decreases lag for blur-free images, further enhanced by a 1 ms Visual Response Boost (VRB).
Ideal for creators, Acer’s CB3 Series monitors support 178-degree wide viewing angles and feature a docking station so users can create a clutter-free workspace that only has to be set up once. The dock includes a 90W USB Type-C port which supports power delivery for notebooks, an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port, and a built-in KVM switch that makes it possible to switch between desktops and laptops without having to change monitors, keyboards or mice.
To ensure a comfortable viewing experience, Acer BlueLightShield Pro technology is included, as well as Acer Flickerless technology to eliminate screen flickering. Acer’s low-dimming technology is also featured on the monitor.
The Ergostand gives users the ability to adjust the tilt, height, swivel and pivot or the screen to find the perfect viewing angle.
“The pandemic has changed how people are approaching work and entertainment,” recognised Victor Chien, president of Digital Display Business at Acer Inc. “People who do their work on notebook computers are investing in monitors, and more families are exploring home cinema technology. We’re doing our best to respond flexibly and meet that new demand.”
The three new products will be available in November across EMEA. The Acer L811 projector will be priced at €2,599; the Nitro XV272U KF monitor will be available for €1,149; and the Acer CB273U monitor will be priced at €449.
