Artison, a Savant company dedicated to the design of high-performance architectural loudspeakers, has unveiled two new models of its next generation Reactance Cancelling Configuration (RCC) architectural subwoofers.
The Mark II series of RCC subwoofers offers increased output levels, improved dynamics, lower distortion, and a significant increase in efficiency.
RCC160 MKII
The first of the new subwoofers is the Artison RCC160 MKII in-ceiling subwoofers, designed to deliver evenly distributed bass reinforcement from the ceiling. Delivered as a pair, the in-ceiling subwoofers provide a balanced, blended audio experience utilising multiple points of sound.
Ideal for entertainment spaces in the home, the RCC160 MKII can deliver superior sound as people move throughout the space. Each RCC160 MKII aluminium enclosure features two four-in by six-in drivers generating the approximate surface are of an eight-in circular woofer from a small package.

Coupled with Savant’s Micro Aperture in-ceiling speakers, the set can create a full-range loudspeaker combination with matching grilles for a seamless décor. The grilles are available in square or round and are just 4.65-in in diameter.
RCC320 MKII
The new RCC320 MKII subwoofers are designed for both in-wall and in-ceiling installations and deliver greater output that is ideal for dedicated music or cinema rooms.
The RCC320 MKII has four four-in by six-in drivers per unit in an extruded aluminium enclosure engineered for tight spaces, with easy pre-construction or retrofit installation into a standard two by four stud bay.
The Artison RCC320 MKII can be specified with a discrete speaker grille or an HVAC-style ceiling grille. For installations that require stacked pairs of RCC320 MKII’s, a single double-length discrete speaker grille can be ordered.

Amplification
The RCC1000-SA DSP-enabled amplifier, rated at 1000 watts, features new firmware developed specifically for the Mark II series subwoofers. The 1U digital amplifier can drive up to four RXX320 MKII or eight RCC160 MKII simultaneously.
Artison’s founder, Cary Christie commented: “As we acknowledged the changing ways that families interact within their homes, which include more active spaces that require excellent sound reproduction, we were challenged to develop a low-frequency driver that not only fit into small spaces but also delivered twice the acoustical output, twice the excursion, and twice the sensitivity of previous solutions.
“With the MKII series subwoofers, we surpassed every preconception of what we had thought was possible.”
The new RCC160 MKII and RCC320 MKII subwoofers are both available to order now on the Savant Store.
