Leica unveils Cine 1 Laser TV

Leica has launched its inaugural venture into 4K home cinema: the Leica Cine 1 Laser TV.

The Leica Cine 1 blends 4K triple RGB laser technology and a modern Teutonic design. The Laser TV features a perforated silver aluminium which aims to enhance the in-built Dolby Atmos surround sound speakers’ performance while ensuring ventilation.

The Cine 1 has a Summicron lens while an automatic dust cover shields it unobtrusively when inactive. The Laser TV features support for Wi-fi 6 and Ethernet, alongside ports for HDMI 2.1 and HDMI 2.0 connections, USB 2.0 and 3.0, as well as compatibility with Google TV and Apple Airplay 2.

Cine 1 comes in 80-in, 100-in and 120-in models, each outputting approximately 2500 lumens. Leica has used a single image size approach, akin to a prime lens on a camera. Leica also offers a corresponding 100 or 120-inch ALR (Ambient Light Rejection) high-contrast screen, made to extract the visuals from the projector.
