MSE Audio introduces new dARTS ceiling speaker

MSE Audio, parent company of SoundTube Entertainment, Soundsphere, dARTS, Phase Technology, Induction Dynamics, SolidDrive and Rockustics, has revealed the CI140D angled ceiling speaker from dARTS.

The dARTS (digital audio reference theatre system) digital theatre was developed to ensure speakers perform the way they were designed to in the lab when installed in the field.

Its new custom installation speaker, the CI140D, enables integrators to install the ceiling-mounted front channel speakers while ensuring it provides the quality of sound necessary to meet dARTS requirements.

With a 45-in angled baffle, the CI140D angled ceiling speaker fills the listening area with direct sound producing an uncompromised front sound stage.

The company promises increased low frequencies with its patented hybrid enclosure design, claiming that it produces twice the bass compared to speakers using conventional enclosures.

Utilising two 5.25-in RPF flat-piston Fiberglass/Kevlar composite woofers and a 1.125-in soft dome tweeter, the CI140D delivers accurate performance with effortless high output needed for all home theatre formats. Additionally, the patented Positive Clamping System ensures rigid non-resonant system mounting.

“Our integrators and distributors requested a high-performance ceiling speaker for clients who want even more versatility with dARTS theatres,” said Ken Hecht, vice president of MSE Audio.

“The ability to install the speakers into the ceiling better meet the aesthetic requirements of many customers and will provide our integrators more flexibility in creating the ultimate theatre anywhere in their client’s home.”
