Adding to its long line of loudspeakers created since 1972, Polk Audio has launched the new Monitor XT Series, a complete hi-res audio certified and Dolby Atmos compatible speaker range.
Representing the evolution of Polk Audio’s critically acclaimed Monitor speaker line, the Monitor XT Series features the company’s latest advances in its woofers, tweeters, crossovers, and cabinetry designed to deliver dynamic and lifelike sound and bass from today’s high resolution and Dolby Atmos streaming services but at an affordable price.
The Monitor XT Series consists of two floorstanding towers (XT70 and XT60), slim and full-size centre channels (XT35 slim and XT30 full-size), two bookshelf models (XT20 and XT15), a 12” powered subwoofer (XT12), and a height module (XT90) for immersive surround sound. All finished in Midnight Black, the Monitor XT Series gives customers various options when building their ideal home cinema or hi-fi system at home.
The range are also timbre-matched to ensure consistent sound in any array, making it easier to mix and match models to cater to individual needs. Further to this, the loudspeakers were engineered to deliver powerful and clear audio from almost any amplifier or receiver.
Hi-Res Audio Certified Terylene dome tweeters are used in the new Monitor XT Series loudspeakers to faithfully reproduce audio beyond 40kHz. These advanced tweeters deliver a grand sense of space and extreme clarity. The new line also features Dynamically Balanced woofers paired with responsive passive radiators (in the floorstanding models) to deliver authoritative bass performance.
To achieve the multidimensional experience of Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D content, the Monitor XT Series includes the MXT90 height speakers. This adds a vertical dimension to the sound filed when playing back content of object-oriented audio formats. It can be mounted atop the Monitor XT20, XT60 or XT70 loudspeakers or a shelf, or wall-mounted to create a more immersive home cinema experience.
The Monitor XT12 powered subwoofer features a 12” long-throw, Dynamically Balanced woofer powered by an ultra-efficient 100W Class A/B amplifier which delivers bass down to 24Hz. The subwoofer offers line-level (RCA) and LFE inputs and is compatible with the latest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X enabled AV receivers. It is possible to fine-tune the performance of the XT12 using the variable crossover, polarity, and volume adjustments.
