Sony unveils ultra-short throw 4K HDR projector at CES

At CES 2017, Sony has added to its range of ultra-short throw home cinema projectors with the introduction of its VPL-VZ1000ES 4K HDR model.

Designed to suit small or high ceilinged spaces, the VPL-VZ1000ES can be positioned six inches away from the wall and project a 254 cm (100-in) image, measured diagonally in 16:9. The projector is mounted in front of viewers to prevent shadows or obstruction.

The VPL-VZ1000ES projector offers 2,500 of brightness, with the manufacturer’s SXRD panels and a Z-Phosphor laser light engine providing high dynamic contrast.

The projector measures approximately 925 x 494 x 219mm in size and weighs roughly 35 kg, making it around 40% smaller than its predecessor, the LSPX-W1S 4K ultra short throw projector.

Sony’s VPL-VZ1000ES model will be released April 2017. The manufacturer is currently exhibiting at booth #7300 at CES 2017, running from January 5 to 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
