XGIMI unveils new 4K Ultra-Short-Throw Laser Projector

XGIMI has entered the laser TV space with its new 4K Ultra Short Throw (UST) Laser Projector, Aura.

Designed to give homeowners home cinematic experience while saving space, the projector utilises a laser-powered UST projection just 17.3” away from a wall. It displays 4K UHD resolution with 2400 ANSI lumens. The laser carries a 25,000-hour lifespan meaning the projector could be used for four hours a day for 17 years, for example.

As an alternative to a TV, Aura allows viewers to choose from various display sizes, with 150” display from 17.3” away, 120” display from 11.7” away, and 100" from 8.2" away.

The crisp and vivid image is made up of true 4K UHD resolution with 8.3 million individual pixels, ALDP technology and HDR10. Aura also has 60Hz motion compensation technology (MEMC) to ensure the viewing experience is smooth so that action scenes and sports are never blurry.

Aura also features XGIMI’s popular eight-point keystone correction to ensure the picture size and quality is correct. Viewers do not need to worry about eye strain as Aura eliminates harmful blue light and utilises diffuse reflection imaging. It also has an integrated light dimmer powered by advance IR sensors to detect any presence and immediately dims the laser, shielding the eyes from damaging radiation.

The projector also delivers a sound system from Harman Kardon. Two tweeter and two woofers at 15W each deliver crisp highs, dynamic midranges and ample bass.

Android TV 10.0, Google Assistant and Chromecast are all built-in to the projector to give users multiple content options, including over 5000 apps such as Disney+, HBO Max and YouTube through wireless casting, voice control or the Android TV interface.

It also has a range of connection options including three HDMI 2.0, three USB 2.0, one headphone, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0.
