First seen at CES 2018, Bang & Olufsen’s Google Assistant-powered have finally got a release date and an official (high-end) price tag.
B&O’s portable option (incorporating a rechargeable battery), the BeoSound 1 speaker, will be available in mid-September, to be followed by the corded, 360-degree sound delivering BeoSound 2 in mid-October time.
The conical speakers offer full Google Assistant compatibility, with Chromecast and Airplay 2 built-in, all of which is housed in a typically B&O sleek, aluminium and brass exterior.
The BeoSound models additionally feature four customisable buttons on top allowing users to access anything they would like that’s Google Assistant-compatible from it (i.e. their favourite radio/news station or listening to a certain playlist).
Five microphones feature to pick up all owners’ commands to Google, which work in harmony with echo-cancelling technology. The BeoSound 2’s control panel furthermore allows users to adjust volume manually via a small adjustable wheel.
Price-wise, the speakers also follow the B&O mould, BeoSound 1 will cost $1,750, with the standing BeoSound 2 priced $500 higher at $2,250. The accompanying docking station is priced at $175.
