Cleerline has launched an IP-rated converter for extreme environments.
The SSF-SERIAL-RUGGED is a 2-piece IP40-rated converter that delivers serial-to-fibre and back conversion for weather boxes, outdoor lockers and more.
The converter provides durable fibre infrastructure for applications such as access control and automated pool covers in -40°C to 75°C conditions.
Rick Sant, managing partner at Cleerline, said: “Our new IP40-rated converter easily facilitates connectivity between fibre and RS-232 or RS-485 devices within our fibre infrastructure, creating an industrial grade connectivity solution with unprecedented reliability.”
Transmitting over a single fibre, either single-mode or multimode, the converter supports power isolation and is also shipped as a matched set.
The SSF-SERIAL-RUGGED accommodates 12V-52V voltage input, compliant with IEC and EN standards for industrial grade equipment.
Sant added: “Integrators must be able to install electronics in extreme environments that provide interface, control, and feedback of connected systems reliably—and offering the durability and performance of a Cleerline fibre infrastructure represents a significant advantage over legacy copper conductors.”
