Business seems to be booming for speaker manufacturer, PMC, who has had to open a new UK based production facility to cope with demand for its recently launched CI Series.
Launched last September, the CI Series consists of six models, proving to be very popular with the installation market looking to provide customers with Hollywood studio audio quality.
The new production factory is based on an industrial estate in Bedfordshire, very near PMC’s head office in Biggleswade, and covers 6,000 sqft with additional space for warehousing.
As well as ensuring the latest manufacturing equipment is used, PMC has also invested in facilities for stringent acoustic testing and critical listening, which will be carried out on every monitor before it is dispatched.
PMC is also increasing its staff resources to support the expansion of the business.
“The reaction to the new CI Series has been nothing short of phenomenal, with demand from custom installers and our worldwide distributors outpacing our ability to manufacture,” said PMC’s owner, Peter Thomas.
Using the same proprietary PMC technology as the company’s multi award winning audiophile speakers and studio monitors, the CI Series slimline speakers are designed with a shallow depth for on-wall and in-wall custom installations.
Although designed for residential custom installations, the speakers are also ideal for professional studios that are embracing Dolby Atmos immersive audio and want discreet monitors for their walls and ceiling channels. The Rolling Stones’ management and record label have recently specified the CI Series for use in the new ‘Rolling Stones – Unzipped’ global touring exhibition.
