CEDIA confirms Executive Committee, elected directors & Governance Committee

CEDIA’s Board of Directors has confirmed the Executive Committee, Governance Committee and elected directors for the new 2021-2022 term.

Executive Committee

CEDIA’s Executive Committee members for 2021 will include:

Board of Directors

Voted in by CEDIA members, the CEDIA Board of Directors represent previously open EMEA region and global members of the CEDIA community. Joining the board for the 2021-2022 term is Shannon Bush, Eddie Shapiro, and Michael Sherman.

Bush is a regional sales manager for AVDG in the US, and she has over a decade of experience in the AV industry, carrying more than 15 professional certifications and licenses. She volunteers for CEDIA and serves on CEDIA’s Integrator Business Owner Working Group.

Chief design officer for SmartTouchUSA, Shapiro has worked in AV and low voltage markets for more than 30 years in areas such as installation, system design, programming, marketing, sales and executive leadership. He has served as a CEDIA volunteer for over a decade and is part of the CEDIA Technology Council, which focuses on emerging trends and key industry topics.

Sherman is the CEO of Henri, a third-generation family business based in France. He has been with the company for 11 years, previously serving in management, development, and operations roles, as well as project manager and technical director. He was named 2019 CEDIA Young Professional of the Year and has volunteered for CEDIA for a decade. Sherman previously served on the board of directors from 2011-2013. He currently serves on the Design and Build Resources Working Group, was part of the CEDIA Membership Advisory Council, and received the French Chamber of Artisans’ Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018.

Albert Mizrahi was voted by CEDIA membership for the 2021-2022 term as an elected member after his two-year appointed seat on the board expired in 2020. Mizrahi is head of several businesses in Mexico, including Control4 Mexico, SmartLab, and DealerShop. With a degree in marketing, he started his career in custom integrations as a director of distribution before becoming director of Control4 Mexico where he opened the first Control4 experience centre in 2012, which has since been replicated globally.

CEDIA’s chairperson, Rob Sutherland said: “As their terms have come to and end, CEDIA and the board of directors would like to thank Peter Aylett, Michael Cogbill, and Joe Whitaker for their years of service and dedication to the board. There’s no question board responsibilities have their challenges, but the friendship and guidance from Peter, Michael and Joe help make it worthwhile. All three exemplify the very best qualities of our industry and have left lasting legacies that will be hard to replace.”

Governance Committee

The organisation has also approved the Governance Committee, which is comprised of the board vice chairperson, two members of the board, and four additional individuals elected by the board.

The Governance Committee includes:

Hagai Feiner – Committee member

Steve Martin – Committee member

The Governance Committee is tasked with preparing and presenting new board member orientation, nominating potential board candidates, and overseeing the board election and appointment process.
