Following the announcement of the annual London-based CEDIA Tech Forum, CEDIA has confirmed the details for the education sessions and keynote presentation.
The Tech Forum, which is taking place on 25 November at The British Library in London, will feature training courses from eight trade supplier members and a keynote speech from Frost & Sullivan, entitled “The Future of Smart and Connected Homes”.
This year, CEDIA welcomes Aldous Systems, Anthem AV Solutions, AWE, Genesis, Gira, Habitech, Loxone, Lutron, Meridian, Orluna, Teleste and Wyrestorm as the sponsors of the event. These trade suppliers will be showcasing their latest products over the course of the two days, while a selection will also hold product training on the first day.
CEDIA’s Tech Forum will be kick started with hour-long training sessions at 10.00 am from Orluna and Genesis Technologies which will run side by side. LED lighting specialist, Orluna, will discuss LED lighting in high-end applications, whilst home technology distributor, Genesis Technologies, will focus on “Delivering Content for Cinema at Home”.
At 11.15 am, Miniserver manufacturer, Loxone, will present “The Key to Smart Home Success,” whilst broadband video and data communication network manufacturer, Teleste, will explore the innovations in hospitality and technology, including DOCSIS and High Speed Internet, IPTV and Room Automation. These sessions will be shortly followed by presentations from Habitech and Meridian at 12.30 pm. Distributor, Habitech, will cover “All you need to know about 4K, HMI2, HDCP2.2 and more,” and high-end loudspeaker manufacturer, Meridian, will explore high resolution audio.
The second part of the day will be introduced by Gira at 2.30 pm. Gira is a manufacturer of intelligent electrical installation technology and building system technology and will lead a training session on KNX Building Automation and Door Communication. Simultaneously, award-winning distributor, AWE, will present “An installer’s guide to AWE’s Multiroom Audio and Home Cinema Solutions”.
Concluding the Tech Forum education programme at 3.45 pm, distributor, Aldous Systems will look into Security in CI with Visualint and Leviton Omni, at the same time as lighting control leader, Lutron, who will present the session “Achieving Success with LED Lighting”.
Following a full day of training, the free to attend event will feature a keynote presentation by Jonathan Robinson, Principal Consultant at international research company, Frost & Sullivan. This keynote speech, entitled “The Future of Smart and Connected Homes” will explore the state of the smart home market. Robinson will discuss how the market looks to evolve over the next five years from both a European and UK perspective, and will share his predictions on industry trends from now until 2020.
The keynote speech will conclude with a live Q&A discussion.
Following the keynote address, CEDIA will present a detailed review of the year at its AGM (CEDIA members only). This will include reports on education, marketing, membership growth, finance and more, with the composition of the new CEDIA Board also revealed at the event.
