CEDIA will be exhibiting at this year’s May Design Series (17 – 19 May 2015 at the ExCeL, London), with the aim to educate and advise design professionals about the benefits of incorporating technology into their projects. Attendees are encouraged to visit CEDIA on stand L150 for the best advice, guidance and resources available to the design community, and to attend any of its six seminar sessions that will be held on each day of the show.
As home technology continues to penetrate the mainstream market, CEDIA is determined to emphasise the importance for interior designers and architects to work collaboratively with its members to ensure a smooth design and implementation process, with guaranteed results.
CEDIA will be available on stand L150 to discuss and advise design professionals about the benefits of incorporating technology into their projects. A plethora of resources which are useful to the design community will also be available to take away.
Between stopovers with the CEDIA team, attendees are encouraged to visit the dedicated show-floor theatre where CEDIA will be hosting six seminar sessions on each day of the show. These sessions will feature two presentations from CEDIA, including its Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes’ RIBA and BIID accredited CPD, which explores the future of households with correct implementation of future-ready technologies, and a session on Designing LED Lighting. CEDIA’s Home Technology Professional members, Kensington Audio Visual, Brilliant Lighting and Ideaworks will lead their own accredited CPD courses over the three days. These sessions will run alongside six manufacturer programmes, which will be hosted by CEDIA Trade Supplier members, including Amina Technologies Ltd, which will also host its own accredited CPD session, Crestron, Habitech, Invision, Merit LILIN and Lutron.
There will also be three sessions from CEDIA home technology professionals, who will discuss award-winning projects and illustrate how interior design and technology work hand in hand.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL MEDIA ROOM – How to transform a living room into a spectacular media room
Phil Turner will explore the term media room, providing details on how technology can transform an unused room into an inviting space. Phil will explain this by talking through Philharmonic AV’s award-winning project, which saw a simple dining room in a Victorian home transformed into a multi-functional and modern space, packed with cutting edge, yet discreetly hidden, audio-visual technology.
A COOLER SHADE OF GREEN – How to integrate technology, architecture and great interior design
Giles Sutton, Managing Director of James + Giles Ltd, will explore the importance of integrating all aspects of technology and design within a property. Giles will illustrate this by talking through a recent project that required the latest technology to meet the demands of modern family life. He will demonstrate how he was able to complement the minimalist interior of the property and meet the low energy credentials required for a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) home.

Will Brocklebank will run through best practice in designing and installing modern communications, heating control and entertainment systems for Listed buildings illustrating his comments with a case study of Face to Face Digital's award-winning work in a beautiful, characterful Grade 1 Suffolk house described by Pevsner as having "few rivals".
