CEDIA is starting its 2016 education programme with two new courses recognised by City & Guilds, the governing body for training, both in the UK and internationally.
Students who successfully complete CEDIA’s Smart Home Technician certification or the Smart Home Designer course will now receive a joint certification from CEDIA and City & Guilds and become endorsed within this sector.
CEDIA’s new City & Guilds accredited courses represent the highest accolade CEDIA can offer its students. As one of the most comprehensive courses available under CEDIA’s education curriculum, the Smart Home Technician programme comprises 12 training courses, including CEDIA Boot Camp, ESC Technical and Networking schools, plus the certification examinations (ESC-T and ESC-N). The training includes modules on Home Cinema & HD Video Distribution, Rack Building & Wiring Fundamentals, Smart Home Control & Lighting Systems and Wireless Residential Networking.
For members, the price for the full-package is £1,999+VAT, and £2,799+VAT for non-members. The next Smart Home Technician course starts on Monday 22 February and is split across three one-week sections.
CEDIA’s Smart Home Designer track has also been accredited by City & Guilds, with all participants who successfully complete the training programme, and pass the ESC-D certification exam being awarded a City & Guilds accredited certification. This programme is comprised of eight training courses, including The Principles of Project Management, Sub System Design and Integration, Home Cinema Design Workshop and Residential Lighting Control, among others.
The price for this full-package is £1,250+VAT for members, and £1,750+VAT for non-members. The next Smart Home Designer track course will start on Monday 7thMarch.
“With City & Guilds accreditation only awarded to the highest quality programmes available, we are thrilled to start the New Year offering our members the best training available in our industry. It is an honour to receive this endorsement for two of our training tracks and is an esteemed validation of the overall quality of CEDIA training,” said Wendy Griffiths, Executive Director of CEDIA EMEA. “We encourage all CEDIA members to make use of this great opportunity to enhance their smart home skills.”
