Crestron has begun shipping its new TST-602 Wireless Touch Screen. The TST-602 delivers dedicated wireless control, voice command recognition, and Web browsing all in a stylish, ergonomic design. Even better, primary touchscreen functionality is supported via Crestron ER wireless communications, lessening or eliminating the need for Wi-Fi. [caption id="attachment_8469" align="alignleft" width="320"] The TST-602 features high-resolution graphics, a 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen.[/caption] The TST-602 features high-resolution graphics, a 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, and native support for H.264 and MJPEG formats that allows the TST-602 to display live streaming video from an IP camera, a streaming server, or a DigitalMedia switcher. In addition to its touchscreen display, the TST-602 features 15 customizable tactile push buttons, including two-button up/down for volume control or channel-select, and five-button D-pad for on-screen display navigation along with illumination that makes it easy to control all functions even in a dark room. The TST-602 also provides the ability to use voice commands to control virtually anything. Now, you can press a button on the touchscreen and then speak commands like “Turn off projector” or “Start presentation.” Or, you can speak voice commands to choose a lighting scene, enter a password, and perform many other functions. To lessen or eliminate the need for Wi-Fi, primary touchscreen functionality for the TST-602 is supported via Crestron ER wireless communications. Crestron ER wireless communication is enabled via the Crestron CEN-ERFGW-POE Extended Range RF Wireless Gateway for ultra-dependable wireless performance up to 200 feet indoors. While the TST-602 can be operated using only ER wireless, advanced wireless capabilities such as streaming video, intercom, Web browsing, and dynamic graphics are supported using both ER and Wi-Fi together (dual-mode). The TST-602 supports b/g/n Wi-Fi connections and WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security protocols. The TST-602 incorporates new fast-charging Lithium ion battery technology that makes it possible to keep the device docked indefinitely without killing the battery. Additionally, to help extend battery life, the Instant-Waking feature allows the TST-602 to go to sleep within seconds of putting it down. If necessary, the battery in the TST-602 is field replaceable. www.crestron.eu
