CYP, with the recent appointment of Nick Bovill as European Technical & Training Manager, has created two new courses, each aimed at installers regardless of experience.
Level 1 - Introduction to AV Distribution
A half-day hands-on practical introduction to new CYP products and how to create a simplified yet effective AV distribution system. Aimed at those new to AV distribution or those looking to expand their knowledge base, attendees will come away knowing the basics of the different cable types and their termination through to establishing a simple point-to-point kit, working with a matrix, splitting and scaling signals and successfully placing an inline audio de-embedder. Delegates will also receive an introduction to CYP's XA range of installation support tools — the essential additions to an AV installer's tool kit.
Level 2 - Become an AV Distribution Specialist
Aimed at intermediate to advanced installers, this more advanced course held over a day delves deeper into AV technology and distribution systems. As well as a comprehensive understanding of the different video and audio standards including UHD, HDR, Chroma Sub-sampling and Dolby Atmos, delegates will also learn best-practice problem solving techniques and the intricacies of HDMI signals and transmission via TMDS, EDID, HDCP and HDBaseT protocols and technologies. In addition, delegates will get to complete a first-hand CYP AV distribution installation, employing the different matrix solutions, point to point extenders, picture scaling, setting up video walls and adding audio. Control is also explained via the various methods including RS-232, IR, WebGUI and Control4, whilst delegates will also walk away knowing how to efficiently trouble-shoot any installation.
