Jeff Coombs, the founder James Loudspeakers and Ambisonic Systems passed away aged 69 on Monday 20 February 2023 in Palm Desert, CA, after a battle with cancer.
Coombs founded James Loudspeakers in 1999 and Ambisonic Systems in 2009. Ambisonic Systems was bought by Origin Acoustics in 2020 and he was president of Ambisonic sales at Origin Acoustics ever since.
With over 54 years of experience in the design of professional and high-end loudspeakers specialising in ribbon-line arrays, Coombs was listed as the inventor on many patents. His company and speakers are known for innovative concepts, breakthrough technology and high-quality sound. More importantly, he was one of the most positive and happy-go-lucky feel-good people.
