Distributor, Habitech has expanded its programme of dealer training, adding four new courses in order to master the latest market challenges and augment the existing CI knowledge base.
The new courses being added to the programme cover topics such as cybersecurity, boosting home cinema expertise, Dirac Live, and Wisdom advanced training.
‘ProNet Cybersecurity’ is the new one-day training course designed to help network engineers of all abilities understand and counter the growing threat to data privacy posed by cyber criminals.
Custom installers and their customers are exposed to these growing risks every day, and this course explains the techniques hackers use to control devices and networks as well as actions that can be taken by integrators to avoid attacks.
Running throughout the year, the course is free to attend and introduces the WatchGuard product line. Attendees on this course will earn three CEDIA training points.
Habitech’s new ‘Essential of Home Cinema’ course is a one-day foundational workshop for those new to home cinema or wanting to refresh their knowledge about the basics of audio/video and design best practice.
The course covers the important aspects of system specification and room design in the home cinema planning phase.
Costing £99.00 plus VAT, this course also earns three CEDIA training points.
The one-day course dedicated to Dirac Live allows integrators to get advanced hands-on experience with calibration using Dirac Live EQ, available on the latest ARCAM AVRs and processors.
Free of charge, the course is open to those who have already completed Habitech’s ARCAM product training, earning three CEDIA training points.
It looks at level and time alignment, as well as mixed-phase room correction technology, impulse response correction, target response curves, sub and main speaker crossover, verifying the results with REW (Room EQ Wizard), and room calibration.
The final new training course added to the programme looks at high-end/large cinema designs.
‘Wisdom Advanced Training’ is a new course following taking the established ‘Wisdom Audio Product Training’ course.
The course offers high-level expertise in speaker specification by calculating SPL levels and dispersion characteristics, in addition to looking at the design applications of point source and line source speakers, bi-amplification, crossovers and PEQ.
It also covers speaker installation best practice, choices, placement and number of subwoofers, the REW room simulator for bass frequencies, Wisdom SC-2 and SC-3 system controllers for cinema and multi-zone, and Dirac tips and tricks.
The course is free of charge and open to integrators who have completed the Wisdom Audio Product Training course.
The four new courses have been added to a programme of ten further workshops in Habitech’s 2020 training agenda.
