Bill Anderson, longtime CEDIA member and active volunteer, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday night, CEDIA’s Executive Director & COO Don Gilpin has reported.
A founding member of CEDIA, Anderson began his career in the mid-1970s when he opened an audio store in Irvine, California. He would go on to expand that business, Genesis Audio & Video, into the custom integration channel in the early 1980s, where it went on to thrive for nearly three decades. Genesis was acquired by Audio Video Design in 2009, where Anderson was appointed vice president.
Anderson was active in the custom installation industry from its early days and served in numerous roles with CEDIA, including as the Chair of its Marketing Committee and as a member of the Manufacturers’ Council.
“Along with my colleagues here at CEDIA, I have many fond memories of Bill and my thoughts are with his close friends and family during this difficult time,†Gilpin said in a statement.
