Due to concerns surrounding the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, Light + Building has announced it is postponing the show to later in the year.
Originally due to take place in Frankfurt from 13-18 March 2022, the show will now be held from 2-6 October.
Organisers held intensive discussions with customers and cooperation partners who voiced their concerns and led to the change of the date.
“We took the concerns of our partners very seriously and of course also weighed up the entrepreneurial opportunities and risks,” said Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. “As already announced in December, all options for a new date were under review.
“Fortunately, we managed to find an attractive autumn date and make it possible through internal rescheduling for Light + Building. This means that the prospect of a strong, international sector launch in Frankfurt in 2022 remains.”
Although the date has been moved to later in the year, organisers have said that the hybrid concept of the show will still remain to allow those who cannot travel due to Covid-19 to still take part in the event.
