Pakedge Device & Software is launching two unmanaged AV switches at ISE this year. The two switches typify the Pakedge approach: CI and commercial AV specific tools that combine traditional IT technologies with installer focused features. The plug-and-play units blend IT-focused networking with the sleek aesthetics of the AV world, removing the need to shoehorn IT products into AV networks for the home and workplace.
The S20fe (16 10/100/1000 Gigabit ports and 4 mini-GBIC ports) and S28fe (24 10/100/1000 Gigabit ports and 4 mini-GBIC ports) feature all front-facing Black Stealth Ports’ for the convenience of the installer. No more fumbling in the dusty, dark recesses of the rack, these units offer installers easy access to the simplicity of plug-and-play AV switches. For greater flexibility, the switches can be secured to the rack in two ways - recessed mounting and flush mounting. Optional front cover plates hide the cabling and complete a clean finished look.
“The S20fe and S28fe switches are completely representative of the Pakedge ethos,†says Victor Pak, President and CEO of Pakedge. “The IP revolution has changed the way in which we construct AV networks and has forced the installer to embrace and adopt what were previously IT solutions. What we are doing at Pakedge is taking IT-technologies and making them fit the requirements of the AV installer, these new switches are great examples of this vision in practice.â€
The capability of each port is optimised for the best speeds and performance on the market. The 10/100/1000 connections means a better sphere of inclusion for different generations of equipment and the mini-GBIC ports offer a slick transition between fibre and Ethernet components on the same network.
The S20fe and S28fe switches will be on show at ISE 2014 along with demos of Pakedge’s networking management platform, BakPak, on a live network.
