Lutron acquires UK-based Orluna LED Technologies to grow global presence

Lutron has announced its acquisition of a UK-based manufacturer specialising in architectural lighting fixtures.

The lighting and shading company acquires Orluna LED Technologies, a brand founded in 2010 with a portfolio consisting of downlights, uplights and architectural fixtures.

Lutron’s first acquisition outside North America, Orluna products are available internationally and will continue to be headquartered in the UK while benefiting from Lutron’s global resources.

Andrew Kilborn, managing director at Orluna, said: “As we enter a world where luminaires and controls continue to merge, we are delighted to team up with Lutron.

“We’re both family-run companies and look forward to this next chapter where we will create beautiful interiors through the harmony of light.”

The acquisition reinforces Lutron’s ability to deliver luxury lighting control systems on a global scale, from Asia Pacific and the Middle East to Europe and the UK.

Ben Bard, vice president of luxury residential business at Lutron, highlighted the company’s focus on raising the bar for quality and design in this latest strategic move.

He added: “Together, we will drive innovation and transform the way spaces are illuminated, blending technology and aesthetics seamlessly.”
