QMotion Advanced Shading Systems has announced the issuance to it by the U.S. Patent Office two patents regarding their technological advances in automated shade systems. QMotion has been granted U.S. patent number 8,919,419 for a counterbalanced motorised shade roll system and method to inventors Willis Jay Mullet, QMotion chief executive officer, and Richard Scott Hand, director of new product development. The patent was awarded for QMotion’s roller shade design that includes a motor, batteries and a torsion spring positioned within the roller tube as well as the method of operating such a shade. In simple terms, QMotion’s unique roller shade design allows the torsion spring to be moved along the length of the roll tube. This flexible design allows for an unlimited array of shade lengths and spring combinations that enables QMotion to make shades in an almost limitless array of custom sizes and provides counterbalanced energy efficiencies exclusively in the QMotion system. QMotion has been granted U.S. design patent number D724,614 for a portion of a display screen with a graphical user interface to inventor Willis Jay Mullet, QMotion chief executive officer. The patent was awarded for the unique graphical user interface for QMotion’s smart phone application that includes a window with an interactive window shade. In simple terms, this patent governs the attractive and easy to use interface that appears in both the iOS and Android applications for controlling QMotion shades. www.QMotionShades.com
