Samsung launches Apple TV app and AirPlay 2

Samsung has announced that from now on, all 2019 Samsung Smart TVs, dependent on country, will feature the new Apple TV app and offer AirPlay 2 support. Selected 2018 TV models with a firmware update will also gain this feature.

With the Apple TV app available in more than 100 countries and AirPlay 2 supprt available in 176 countries, Samsung customers can now enjoy Apple TV channels and iTunes movies plus TV shows on their Samsung Smart TVs.

Users can now select the Apple TV app icon to access their movie and TV show purchases as well as browsing more than 100,000 titles to buy or rent, including those available in 4K HDR. Customers are also given the option to pay a subscription to only access the Apple TV channels of their choice where they can watch on demand directly through the app on the Samsung TV.

From this Autumn when the services will launch, the Samsung Smart TVs will give access to Apple TV+ and Apple’s original video subscription service through the Apple TV app. The TVs with AirPlay 2 features will allow users to view content from their iPhone, iPad or Mac through their Samsung Smart TV.

To give a seamless experience to users, the Apple TV app will be integrated to work with Samsung Smart TV features such as Universal Guide, Bixby and Search.
