Sony launches hi-res streaming service

Sony Music Entertainment has partnered with Rhapsody to release a high-resolution streaming service in Japan.

Japan has proven difficult for streaming services to crack, with 75% of music revenue being physical CD’s in 2017.

The service aims to deliver lossless FLAC files in up to 24-bit/96khz.

The streaming service, Mora Qualitas, will run using Rhapsody’s Napster technology and will run on Windows and Mac with other platforms planned for the future.

The service will cost approximately 1,980 Yen (€15.36)
