Coming to the end of its first full calendar year of operating, Together for Cinema has announced that it will have completed its eighth cinema installation of the year by the end of November, seven of which are in children's hospices and one in the Dorset Children’s Foundation.
All eight of these cinema rooms equate to around £260,000 if they were normal paid for installations, but thanks to the support of the industry, these were able to be donated to each venue.
Before the year ends, Together for Cinema are planning to hold four more opening events, which will be in Stoke, Sittingbourne, Gosforth, and Poole.
By the end of 2022, the organisation will have completed a total of 37 cinema room installations since its inception at a normal ‘paid for’ value of £910,000.
Planning for next year, Together for Cinema have already visited or are planning to visit all seven of its proposed installations for 2023, with five at children’s hospices, a disabled centre for children and young adults in Surrey, and the Resources for Autism Centre in North London. These installations will mean that Together for Cinema will hit the £1,000,000 mark of good cause installs in summer 2023.
With another seven installations planned for 2023, Together for Cinema are now looking for installers who can donate their time, as well as manufacturers who can donate equipment such as projectors, screens, AVRs, speaker packages, racks, control, lighting, etc, to make these installations possible.
Over the last couple of months, Together for Cinema has attended EI Live!, the Smart Building Awards and the CEDIA EMEA Awards which were all very successful in spreading the message about the organisation and its goals. Ian Morrish, the founder of Together for Cinema, said he was “moved and delighted” that Chris Pinder received two Special Recognition Awards at both ceremonies for his efforts in raising such an enormous amount of money for the charity.
