Z-Wave Alliance to host EU Smart Home Summit

The Z-Wave Alliance has announced that it will host the 2017 Z-Wave Summit – Europe from 18 to 19 May, 2017 in Denmark, to convene members for discussions, panels and workshops surrounding the smart home protocol.

The two-day event will be hosted for the first time at the Sigma Designs’ engineering centre in Copenhagen and incorporate both marketing and technical tracks.

The summit will feature sessions dedicated to branding and marketing with the Marketing Working Group, in addition to a Developer’s Forum and networking evening for all attending members and guests. Speakers will include Strategy Analytics’ Bill Ablondi, director of smart home strategies, and Matti Kahola, energy analyst for Delta-ee, who will deliver keynote presentations to the group.

Advanced technical training and discussions will also be provided on technical topics surrounding Z-Wave and IoT markets including security and the new S2 framework, the Z-Wave roadmap, certification, the Z-Wave Certified Installer Toolkit and SmartStart.

“We are thrilled to be hosting our popular global member summit in the home city of Z-Wave innovation and gathering our EU member contingent,” said Mitchell Klein, Z-Wave Alliance executive director.

“The smart home market in Europe is in its early stages and we see the signs that the market is on the move. We’re looking forward to hearing from our members about what they’re seeing and how we can work together to leverage Z-Wave and show the benefits of connected living to customers around the EU.”

Additional sessions include:

•             Panel discussion on energy to explore the role of the smart home in maintaining and expanding energy efficiency measures promoted by governments and utilities

•             Branding advice from Z-Wave branding expert and information on the retail toolkit

•             Panel discussion on retail exploring early successes and challenges, along with ways to solve issues and open up the DIY market to win repeat business and customer loyalty

The Z-Wave Alliance will also host another global member summit in the US this September.
