Organisers have said smart home technology will gain further prominence at this year’s National Homebuilding & Renovating Show in the UK.
Taking place from March 19-22 at the NEC Birmingham, the event is expected to attract more than 24,000 homebuilders, renovators, investors and trade professionals.
Organisers say the 2026 edition will feature an increase in exhibitors focused on smart home and AV technologies, reflecting the expanding role of connected systems in modern residential projects.
The show offers a chance to demonstrate the benefits of integrated technology to homeowners actively planning new builds or renovation projects.
According to Michael Holmes, director of content for Homebuilding & Renovating, demand for integrated technology is rising as homeowners increasingly prioritise flexible, multifunctional living spaces.
“We’re seeing a fundamental shift in how homes are being designed and delivered,” Holmes said. “This is being driven by remote working, evolving family dynamics and rising demand for flexible living.”
The continued growth of remote and hybrid working is expected to be a key theme during the event, with discussions focusing on how changes in lifestyle are shaping property design and specification.
