UK-based manufacturer Lithe Audio has announced the launch of its AirPlay-certified ceiling speakers with a built-in amplifier and WiFi.
Suitable for home-wide deployment, up to 30 of Lithe Audio’s WiFi ceiling speakers can be connected throughout an installation for multi-room streaming (with Airplay, Spotify Connect, Deezer and TIDAL built-in and accessible via a dedicated app).
The accompanying app saves settings for individual zones or to play ‘Party Mode’ (all speakers at once) for future streaming, with audio powered by a 60W RMS amplifier. Users can switch between mono and stereo output and have varying volume levels in different rooms.
A wire-free option for retrofit projects, the speakers allow installers or electricians to connect power from a lighting circuit, link to your device via the app and then stream music.
Other features include an RCA input for connecting to a TV or another music source (e.g. CD player, plus DNLA and UPnP) to allow users to play music from the NAS drive within the home network.
Lithe state that the frameless speakers protrude 3mm and its magnetic, paintable grille covers can be removed easily for cleaning or for replacement. Each one measures 230 x 100mm.
Lithe Audio’s WiFi multi-room speakers were recently shortlisted in the ‘Product of the Year’ shortlist for the upcoming 2018 CEDIA Awards, taking place on 27 September, 2018.
The speakers are priced at £329 or £399 for a pair in the UK.
