Loewe has announced the launch of its wireless floorstanding klang 5 speaker system.
Designed to accompany Loewe TV models including the DTS and Dolby Digital-capable bild 7 OLED, each column speaker incorporates speaker incorporates five drive units in a D’Appolito arrangement. A one-in tweeter is flanked vertically by two 3-in midrange drivers and two three-in woofers.
The tweeter and midrange units are each driven by a separate amplifier, while a fourth amp module handles the two woofers, delivering a combined power output of 135W RMS (270W max) per speaker.
A specifically designed acoustic waveguide ensures optimal sonic dispersion: wide to the sides for the same listening experience wherever the listener is located, and narrow on the vertical plane to minimise reflections from the floor and ceiling.
Measuring 135.8 x 11.8 x 11.8cm, Klang 5 speakers can be connected to the manufacturer’s TVs via a klang link wireless transmitter box, providing lossless, high-speed digital audio transmission with latency under 5ms. It operates on the 5.8GHz frequency band, but is able to switch automatically to 2.4GHz or 5.3GHz to avoid interference.
The speakers can be used as a stereo pair or with the matching klang 5 subwoofer in a 3.1 or 5.1 configuration to provide home cinema surround sound. They are available in graphite grey or light grey models.
