Last week at ISE in Barcelona, Lutron Electronics launched its Palladiom wire-free shades in Europe, as well as new software, features and e-tools for HomeWorks.
Designed to simplify the installation process for residential integrators and installer, the wire-free range and updated HomeWorks software brings flexibility and remote monitoring capabilities empowering integrators to work more efficiently and provide better service to customers.
As well as launching Palladiom wire-free and updating HomeWorks software, Lutron also showcased RA2 Select, S-fold draperies, Alisse and Wood Blinds. RA2 Select is a simple, wireless whole home lighting control solution for the home which works seamlessly with smart home solutions brands and is easily installed by Lutron PRO qualified electrical contractors.
S-fold draperies and wooden blinds address homeowners’ interest in innovative window treatments which are at the same time distinctive and comfortable, while Alisse provides users with an elegant, flexible wall control.
The Palladiom shading system is now available as a wired and now wire-free, battery-operated system with all of the internal technology concealed and an innovative battery change mechanism which enables the battery to be changed while keeping the blind in situ. Palladiom shading solutions are designed to be installed without a fascia, pocket, or recess in exposed applications.
The new wire-free range offers complete wire-free installation with precise, automated control of daylight. Delivering daylight control at scale, the solution is designed to enhance the space by highlighting what is beyond the windowpane. The minimal design provides the flexibility with an integrated antenna and easily replaceable batteries stored within the shade itself.
With long battery life, Palladiom Wire-Free runs on Active Energy Optimisation, a battery management architecture designed to maximise the efficiency of traditional alkaline batteries to extend battery lifetime. Using six of fewer batteries, the system can run for three to five years.
HomeWorks has been around for over three decades, giving homeowners complete control over their lighting and blinds at home. At ISE, Lutron introduced new software and e-tools for HomeWorks, needed to design, quote, and upload changes without physically going onsite. These include a new digital workflow to make integrators more efficient, remote access to provide faster service to clients and a cloud connection to ensure firmware and backups are always up to date.
“The new Palladiom wire-free adds incredible flexibility to our most elegant shading solution,” said Steve Detmer, residential product manager at Lutron. “We want to help our community expand their offering and become a full-service lighting and blind control provider for all their projects. The wire-free Palladiom shading system combines a design-centric aesthetic with the simplicity of wire-free operation, making it easier than ever to bring the perfect daylight control to the most demanding homeowners.”
