Meridian unveils two key products at ISE 2019

Meridian Audio introduced two new In-Wall Loudspeakers to its architectural loudspeaker line-up as well as launching its new 210 Streamer.

The In-Wall Loudspeakers feature high SPLs, strong bass performance capabilities and are the first to be powered by the new Meridian ‘CLASS-M’ DSP engine and the first to integrate ‘DYNAMIC’ Hi-Res amplifiers.

The DSP640.2 In-Wall Loudspeaker includes eight power amplifiers to deliver 100W per drive unit and has L+R mode for high-end soundbar applications. With capabilities of delivering over 105 dB over 4m, it provides a full range of sound with bass extension down to 40Hz together with Meridian’s on-board Enhanced Bass Alignment that parallels high, mid and upper bass frequencies with the low bass for added clarity.

Featuring a new quad-amp DSP design, the new DSP520.2 In-Wall Loudspeaker has four powerful amplifiers delivering 100W per drive unit. This speaker also has L+R mode to ensure true sound reproduction in a stereo recording when a single loudspeaker is used on it own, as well as bringing bass extension down to 50Hz for full range sound.

Also launched at the show was Meridian’s new 210 Streamer, designed to help integrators meet client demand for reliable and high-quality audio streaming within the home.

The 210 Streamer can be connected to smart phones or tablets using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and gives the user volume and playback controls that is synchronised between streaming apps and the Meridian system.

It supports Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay and is a Roon ready device as well as being compatible with DLNA / UPnP and ensures that content from any USB storage can be available to networked media players or renderers. 210 Streamer can also be directly connected to a pair of DSP loudspeakers or to any system via a SpeakerLink input.
