Naim Audio unveils Solstice Special Edition package

Expanding the Naim Audio experience to vinyl lovers, Naim Audio has introduced a Solstice Special Edition package which features its first turntable in the brand’s almost 50-year history.

The package will also come with a next-generation version of the iconic Naim Aro tonearm, an Equinox MC cartridge, Solstice Series Phono Stage, Power Supply and bespoke accessories set. The Solstice Special Edition package will be limited to just 500 units.

The Naim Solstice Turntable NVS TT combines core Naim design philosophies, such as multiple levels of mechanical decoupling and premium materials. The turntable features a magnetic bearing to support a high mass, as well as a highly polished aluminium platter with a unique, self-calibrating motor drive system.

Having received an upgrade, Naim’s Aro Tonearm possesses the original’s design principles but boosts performance by using improved materials, including tungsten and carbon fibre. It also now has a no-compromise bias, arm height and azimuth adjustments.

The Equinox MC Cartridge features a microline stylus shape, closer to the original cutting lathe head to enable the retrieval of accurate high-frequency information, as well as a boron cantilever, a stiff but light design that transfers the stylus movements to the moving coils.

First used on the flagship Statement amplifier, the Solstice Series Phono Stage NVC TT is the first Naim phono stage to use DR technology. It features an ultra-low-noise Class A design with dedicated MC and MM head amplifiers.

Also using Naim DR technology, the Solstice Series Power Supply NPX TT powers both the turntable and the phono stage. For the ultimate performance, these two different power supplies are completely isolated to eliminate risk of interference.

The accessories set included in the package features a digital stylus gauge, bubble level, hex drivers, vinyl adjustment tool, dust protector and cleaning cloth.

Also included in the package is a curated collection of True Stereo recordings, newly remastered for vinyl by original engineer, Ken Christiansen, and a special edition book which features insight into heritage, technology and design.

Displaying a classic Naim look, the Solstice Special Edition is simple to set up and use and focuses on high performance sound of vinyl collections. For an extra design touch, the turntable plinth has been painstakingly crafted from 47 separate layers of wood, and the cartridge sits in a solid aluminium housing machined from a single billet.

The Solstice Series NVC TT phono stage and NPX TT power supply are both hand-crafted in Salisbury, UK, while the NVS TT turntable, Aro arm and Equinox cartridge are manufactured to Naim’s unique design by Clearaudio. The German company has over 40 years of premium audio expertise, including numerous patents for its acclaimed turntable designs. The Solstice Special Edition has been worked on between the two audio companies for more than two years.
