Onkyo launches A-9110 and A-9130 amplifiers

Building on the legacy of its 2015 A-9010 model, Onkyo has introduced not one but two additions to its ‘A’ line of amplifiers.

Enter the A-9110 and A-9130 – modestly priced, like its sister model and packing in numerous upgrades when it comes to build and performance.

The analogue-only A-9110 model and digital-ready A-9130 (featuring onboard DAC) incorporate four and five RCA line-level inputs respectively, as well as a MM phono stage. Both models have line-level and subwoofer outputs, with the A-9130 additionally offering a direct power-amp input.

The 9130 is also furthermore with coaxial and optical inputs, fed by a Wolfson WM8718 DAC (supporting 24bit/192kHz playback) and an audio board that can automatically shut down when detecting analogue (and reduce signal interference).

Both amplifiers incorporate Onkyo’s high-current WRAT (Wide Range Amplification Technology), as well as Phase Matching Bass Boost technology (for aligning frequencies for optimum bass and vocals) and Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry to prevent interference.

Construction-wise, the amplifier is now housed in a 1.6mm-thick metal chassis which Onkyo state has been worked on to improve rigidity and lessen vibrations and resonance.

Onkyo will release the A-9110 and A-9130 amplifiers in September, available in black or silver.

Back in July, it was announced that the European operations of Onkyo and Pioneer Corporation’s hi-fi and home cinema brands would be handed over to Aqipa GmbH.
