Why did you choose this product?
Having deployed many URC MRX10’s in the past, we were eager to get our hands on its bigger brother. Processing power under the hood, and input and output connections have increased greatly.
In an addition, there is a completely new feature “screen overlay controlâ€, which allows the GUI to appear on and around the current content on screen. The increase in power means that we can load more two-way modules, such as NEST And Sonos control, without effecting performance.
What do you like about using it?
The processor is just as reliable as its predecessor and, of course, configuration is exactly the same, which means there was little to no learning curve. It has only grown by 1U, making it a 2U unit. So far, it is our first choice for a control system and has not let us down. The deployment of multiple user interfaces could not be faster, allowing the client to change they mind when they wish, and saving us time in the future when this invariability happens.
What additional features would you like to see?
More IR outputs would really be helpful. We are finding that we are still having to use additional URC MRX10’s on larger projects.
In which applications are you using the product?
The majority of our custom install work is for high-end residential, therefore the URC MRX-20 is usually in a rack with a 8x8 matrix and various source equipment. We feel that it gives a great alternative to other products which are a little market saturated.
