Q Acoustics has introduced its latest innovation for its Concept series of stereo and home cinema loudspeakers: the Concept 30 standmount, Concept 50 floorstanding, and Concept 90 centre channel.
With acoustic technology and design cues trickled down from the flagship Concept 300 and 500, the new speakers also introduce new audio innovations, ensuring the new models deliver high-end home audio performance.
Designed to have the quietest cabinet possible, the speakers deliver focused stereo imaging, accurate audio and an extended holographic soundstage to emulate a live performance in the home.
First introduced in the original Concept speaker, the Gelcore cabinet construction is designed to minimise high-frequency noise. The technology has a unique design comprised of a non-setting gel sandwiched between two individual layers, which dissipates the high-frequency vibration generated by the moving drivers into heat.

The new Concept 50 loudspeaker features Point-2-Point (P2P) internal bracing, first introduced in the Concept 500. P2P is designed to keep the cabinet as rigid as possible and reinforces the interior areas of the cabinet susceptible to low-end frequency reverberations.
All three of the new Concept models have a suspension system in the form of a sprung baseplate, a variation of the highly effective isolation base first seen on Concept 300. Two plates are separated by suspension ‘spheres’ that effectively isolates the cabinet from interference from external vibrations, providing tighter stereo imaging and bringing greater depth.
Specially designed Helmholtz Pressure Equalisers (HPE) tubes are fitted within the Concept 50’s cabinet to improve frequency response, as tall floorstanding speakers are prone to internal build up of pressure that causes unwanted standing waves and reverberations.
The Concept 30, 50 and 90 loudspeakers feature new 5” mid/bass and 0.9” tweeter driver specifically designed for the new models to be an integral part of the mechanical structure of the cabinet. The drive units are fixed to a stiff 3mm aluminium baffle plate before it is fitted to the cabinet to give the correct acoustic seal, dampening vibrations and minimising structural coupling.

The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the baffle, allowing for lower distortion and a lower crossover point for seamless integration through the crossover region. The crossover itself is mounted to the isolation base, keeping it free of sound-effecting vibrations and away from the electro-magnetic influence of the drivers themselves.
Concept 30, 50 and 90 follow the same designs as the Concept 300 and 500 models, including the signature aluminium front baffle plate. All models are available in black, silver or white lacquers.
The Concept 30 is priced at £899 / €1,199 / $1,299. The Concept 50 is priced at £1,999 / €2,599 / $2,999. The Concept 90 is priced at £649 / €849 / $999. The new loudspeaker models will be available from the end of October.
