NAD enhances CI installation flexibility with Dirac Live Ready upgrade

NAD Electronics has confirmed two of its CI products are now Dirac Live Ready, supporting tighter optimisation of integrated audio using advanced correction technologies.

Available now on the S2 BluOS Streaming Module and SA2-120 BluOS Streaming Amplifier Module, users can purchase a Dirac Live Room Correction software license to fine-tune NAD systems.

NAD says, as a result, integrators can apply precise acoustic optimisation to improve clarity, imaging, tonal balance, and overall listening performance across a wide range of listening environments.

They can also use NAD’s Dirac Room Calibration Kit (sold separately) and the Dirac Live app for Windows and macOS to this end. A Dirac Live app is also available for iOS and Android.

Peter Gibb, CI product manager at NAD Electronics, said: “This update gives NAD customers and integrators more accurate, room-optimised performance while leveraging the flexibility of BluOS streaming and NAD’s award-winning amplification.”

On the SA2-120, Dirac Live Room Correction can be configured for ‘Zone 1’ audio output for enhanced control in a primary listening area.

Dirac Live Room Correction was developed to correct acoustic issues that can negatively impact sound quality.

By analysing both frequency and impulse responses in a listening space, the platform compensates for room anomalies.

There are two software license options for Dirac Live Room Correction: Limited Bandwidth, which corrects frequencies from 20Hz to 500Hz to improve bass and midrange performance, and Full Bandwidth extending correction across the full frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz.

Both licences are available for purchase by selecting the NAD CI SA2-120 or CI S2 from Dirac's supported device list.

To simplify setup and calibration, NAD also offers a Dirac Room Calibration Kit available through authorised distributors and its online site.

The mic included enables users to perform the measurements required for Dirac Live calibration.
