Rotel adds integrated amplifiers to Michi range

Following the success of the re-introduction of the Michi brand, Rotel has added the Michi X3 Integrated Amplifier and Michi X5 Integrated Amplifier to its existing portfolio of pre and power amplifiers.

Michi is a high-end audio brand which produces reference quality products for sound quality, elegant design and build. Its P5 Preamplifer and S5 Stereo Amplifier have recently won the 2020-2021 EISA Awards in the High-End Pre/Power Amplifier category.

Building on this established formula, the Michi X3 and X5 offer first-class engineering as well sharing the same industrial design and finish of the recently launched P5, S5 and M8 models.

X5 Integrated Amplifier
The X5 Integrated Amplifier supports 14 source inputs including analogue, digital, XLR, PC-USB with DSD 2X decoding plus MQA rendering, Bluetooth with apt-X and AAC high quality wireless streaming and both moving magnet and moving coil phono stage. Digital to analogue conversion utilises an AKM 32 bit, 768KHz DAC, achieving meticulous accuracy and timing of the audio.

The X5 closely follows the architecture of the existing Michi P5/S5 pre/power combination and is similarly powered by dual, in-house manufactured, oversized toroidal transformers, allowing the X5 to deliver 600W of output power into 4-ohms and 350W to 8-ohm loads with near limitless, controlled, bass energy.

Easy setup options can be set on the front panel graphic display as well as the custom designed signature Michi remote control. The display is configurable to show operating status, or a 12-band graphic EQ or a Peak Power Meter.

X3 Integrated Amplifier

Delivering 350W of power into 4-ohms and 200W to 8-ohm loads, the X3 Integrated Amplifier is also driven by a high-efficiency, oversized, in-house manufactured toroidal transformer feeding independent analogue, digital, and power amplifier voltage regulator circuits for optimal power isolation.

Its architecture is focused on continuous, high-quality performance with all circuits designed to optimise the signal path to each of the 13 source inputs, including XLR, analogue, digital, PC-USB, Bluetooth apt-X wireless streaming and a moving magnet phono stage.

A high-resolution screen on the X3 ensures a quick setup of all features and multiple user-selectable configuration options of the run-time display.

RS232 and Ethernet connectivity provide integration of both the X5 and X3 with home automation systems.

The Michi X3 will be available in October while the X5 is due to arrive in November.

Suggested retail pricing for the X5 model is £6,300 / €7,000 / $6,999, and the X3 model is £4,300 / €5,000 / $4,999.
