Russound has announced the shipping of its five new CI loudspeakers, including two single point stereo variants, to the UK market through its distributor, Connected Distribution.
The IC-605, IC-830, IW-630, IC-620T and IC-820T are all joining Russound’s existing line up of in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. Incorporating over 50 years’ experience in audio design, the new models enhance the already established IC Series even further.
A contractor grade speaker, the IC-605 sports a two-way design to incorporate features such as the inverted parabolic surround and the critical mid-range and higher frequency reproduction. For easy installation, the speaker has a pin cushion EasyGrip tweeter bridge specifically designed to be held in one hand to aid installation.
Sitting at the top of the range, the IC-830 in-ceiling speaker is ideal for critical listening areas and home cinema installs. It features a +/- 3dB tweeter adjustment switch to adjust for the room’s acoustic characteristics and has been developed to produce intelligent highs and deep rich low frequencies. It features advanced materials such as the 25mm pivoting titanium tweeter and the 200mm injection-moulded polypropylene cone with vapour-deposited titanium.
Using the same cone and tweeter technology, the IW-630 is a two-way in-wall design, which tonally matches the IC-830 and existing smaller IC-630 models. It has been designed for use as the LCR and surround channels in a Dolby Atmos system with the in-ceiling variants taking on the height channels.
The IC-620T and IC-820T are enhanced single-point stereo speakers designed for spaces where stereo placement is difficult or impractical. A step up from the established IC-610T, they are ideal for hallways, small rooms, walk-in wardrobes, etc. With easy install and connection ability, the speakers have separate inputs for both the left and right audio channels, dual tweeters and a dual voice-coil woofer. Both models are an ideal solution for improving sound quality without having multiple stereo speakers installed.
Making installation as simple as possible for installers, all new models except for the IC-605 features the proprietary SwiftLock tool-less installation system which has proved to be popular on the existing IC Series. Installers only have to press a button at each of the three mounting dog legs (apart from the IW-630 which has four dog legs) for the speakers to instantly and firmly clamp into place without using a screwdriver or drill. SwiftLock also prevents over-tightening or under-tightening.
Russound has also kept in mind upgrades, ensuring that the new models fit in the same hole cut out as the older models, as well as using the same new construction brackets as the previous range.
Aesthetically, each model has been upgraded to feature new bezel-less NanoPerf grilles that are finished in a paintable brilliant white and are available in round or square profiles. The in-wall speakers are also supplied with the same NanoPerf grilles to match.
