TCL Electronics has unveiled its new 4K UHD hands-free voice control TV to UK customers. The P715K Series is the latest move in the company’s mission to expand its competitive value to the intelligent TV market in the UK.
Featuring an ultra slim design and 4K HDR 10 picture quality, the P715K offers an innovative bezel-less design that gives an edge-to-edge display. The TV also has an advanced Smart TV system, Android TV with built-in Google Assistant.
The newest addition to the ‘P’ Series provides enhanced contrast and colour enabling to take full advantage of the latest standard for 4K UHD content – High Dynamic Range (HDR). Expanding the range of both contrast and colour, HDR reproduces light and dark shades to a high degree of accuracy with precise colours and detailed images.
Recognising that HDR is not standard on all content yet, the P175K Series features SMART HDR, which upgrades SDR content to HDR-like picture quality. SMART HDR can also dynamically improve and optimise native HDR content and adapt it to its screen capabilities.
Using AI and HDR scene identification, the SMART HDR feature improves both dark and bright scenes. In darker scenes, the P175K Series supplements the level of brightness to express objects hidden in darker shadows, while with brighter scenes, SMART HDR increases the level of contrast ratio to differentiate objects from the background. This results in a more layered, richer image that outlines detail more effectively for a better, more lifelike picture.
Using a Micro Dimming algorithm, the P715K’s picture quality is enhanced by analysing 100 separate zones simultaneously to adapt brightness, resulting in an exceptional visual experience, especially in the dark.
The Android TV operating system allows viewers to cast photos, videos and music from their smart devices directly to the TV thanks to the built-in Chromecast.
The built-in Google Assistant allows users to control their TV using their voice. Most TV’s require the user to hold a button the remote control to access voice controls. However, on the P175K, this ability is hands-free. Homeowners simply use just their voice for access, launch and control content, to turn on the TV, switch inputs, adjust the volume, search for content and much more.
Various on demand 4K HDR apps are also available on the TV including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and YouTube.
Even though it has Google Assistant built in, the P715K Series also supports Amazon Alexa and is enabled to play music, hear the news, check weather, adjust TV volume, change TV channel, control the smart home, and more.
The P175K Series will be available in the UK in 43-in, 50-in, 55-in and 65-in models from the end of September. The 75-in model will be available in the UK early next year. Prices start from £379.
