Fyne Audio unveils stand-mount speaker for F700 series

Fyne Audio has debuted a stand-mount loudspeaker for its F700 series.

The ‘Special Production’ F701SP, built at the brand’s new Glasgow factory, brings the F1 Series technology to a contemporary stand-mount design.

The F701SP joins earlier launches from Fyne using the F1 Series IsoFlare driver, BassTrax porting system and specification crossover.

The latest model refines the existing F701 with sound articulation and a new finish option.

Getting technical

The F701SP’s 8” IsoFlare driver is derived from the F1-8, featuring a 200mm multi-fibre bass with FyneFlute roll surround.

The net result is a 200mm point source, time-aligned driver that helped the F1-8 become one of Fyne’s best-selling loudspeakers.

Uprated engineering and build

The F701SP boasts SP Series high-end cabling from Neotech and terminals from WBT.

The crossover is hand-built with silver alloy solder, including flagship components such as ClarityCap high-grade capacitors and Neotech's PC-OCC wiring.

The unit is subject to Fyne’s in-house Deep Cryogenically Treated process to relieve stresses in the crystalline conductors and joint structure. Its downward firing port and BassTrax Tractrix 360degree LF diffuser ensure high-power handling (360W) and high sensitivity (91db/W).

The BassTrax radial LF output smooths LF integration into the room and offers positioning flexibility.

‘Smooth, contemporary design’

Max Maud, sales director at Fyne Audio, said: "The F1-8 and F701 are our most successful stand-mount loudspeakers since the company launched in 2017. Customers have been asking for a model closer to the F1-8 in performance yet retaining the F701’s smooth, contemporary design language.

“We set our head of design, Dr Paul Mills, to seamlessly merge our F1-8 technology and performance with F701 architecture to create the F701SP.”
