Fyne Audio’s new Cubitt 5 combines hi-fi sound with wireless convenience

Fyne Audio has launched a bookshelf speaker system featuring technologies designed to distribute sound across a wider listening area.

The Cubitt 5 combines a five-inch IsoFlare point-source driver and FyneFlute surround technology to create a more immersive listening experience beyond a traditional ‘sweet spot’.

It’s the Scottish audio brand’s first active speaker system integrating amplification, crossover and digital signal processing, with up to 240W of power on tap and support for hi-res audio up to 96kHz.

The speaker can connect directly to a TV via HDMI eARC, positioning it as an all-in-one audio product for home entertainment.

Anji Sosna, MD at Fyne Audio, said: “The Cubitt 5 is the culmination of two years research and development into how we can best bring a whole new generation of music lovers into enjoying high fidelity music reproduction at home.”

Wireless streaming underpins the concept, featuring Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and AAC.

Fyne says the Bluetooth circuit has “undergone extensive development to ensure the cleanest signal path to the amplification module”.

Additionally, a built-in phono stage allows turntable connection while analogue and optical digital connections support any legacy equipment.

Electroacoustic engineer Christopher Mills added the Cubitt is designed to bring hi-fi performance to the way people listen to music today.
