Honor’s new AI-powered projector offers stylus interaction and gesture control

Honor has developed an AI-enhanced projector that offers gesture control, with a stylus for drawing on the ceiling or wall.

The smart device company, a former subsidiary brand of Huawei, introduced the Choice Firefly AI Projector Air at its recent 500 Series event.

The compact projector, complete with a gimbal stand, uses a 1LCD optical engine and a four-element lanthanide glass lens to minimise light loss.

At an affordable price point, it offers 280 CVIA lumens of brightness and a 2500:1 contrast ratio.

The model houses a 5W speaker and ports like HDMI 2.0 and USB, with additional support for Wi-FI 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

AI technology facilitates gesture control via slide, tap, drag and select commands on a stylus.

The projector also offers a full AI image-adjustment system for setup and calibration, featuring auto keystone correction, auto focus, auto obstacle avoidance and auto screen alignment.

The system can automatically detect borders and environmental factors to refine framing.
