Apple could cut Vision Pro production due to low demand

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Apple will cut production of its Vision Pro production due to reported low demand in the market.

Kuo claims that Apple’s Vision Pro shipments has been cut to 400,000-450,000 units instead of the market consensus of 700,000 to 800,000 units before the launch of the Vision Pro in non-US markets.

In a report, Kuo says that this could indicate that demand in the US market “has fallen sharply beyond expectations”.

In Kuo’s latest survey, it is claimed that Apple is “reviewing and adjusting” its HMD product roadmap, suggesting that there may not be a Vision Pro model in 2025. The same report also says that Apple now expects Vision pro shipments to decline year-on-year in 2025.

Apple’s Vision Pro headset was first released in early 2024, the company’s first hardware launch in ten years. Retailing at €3,277, the Vision Pro headset features a two-hour battery life. The headset can be operated using a combination of the user’s hands, eyes and voice. Users can tap their fingers to select and flick their fingers to scroll.
