CEDIA has announced that it has appointed Roopesh Shah as the regional development consultant in India to help grow the market and support CEDIA’s expanding members.
With over 10 years of experience in leadership roles in various industries, Shah will be responsible for increasing CEDIA member engagement in India, developing relationships with the design community and promoting new and existing CEDIA initiatives and resources.
He will endorse the recently launched Member of Excellence programme along with the acquisition that has led to The CEDIA Designer and the discount that members can get with this software. Shah will also push technical white papers, online training, and any other information available to CEDIA members.
A new Indian members community has just been introduced on CEDIA’s website to provide a platform for lively problem-solving discussions and connections. As well as this forum, Shah will offer local support himself for CEDIA’s Annual Tech Summit which is taking place in July and November this year.
Wendy Griffiths, CEDIA’s vice president global development, commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Roopesh to help drive our expansion in India. We have seen rapid CEDIA growth in the sub-continent over recent years, with over 40 members active in the country. We’ve been delivering more and more in-market CEDIA training and provided plenty of support from our EMEA office over this time. Now, we can take this growth to another level in line with our three-year strategic plan. The appointment of Roopesh will help us increase our support to existing CEDIA members and allow us to reach potential new members in an efficient and beneficial way.”
“I’m excited by this fantastic opportunity,” added Shah. “I’ve seen a surge of technology integrators within India who are providing the latest technology to give home users a luxurious experience. However, there are gaps between the home user’s expectations and the ability of the professionals to deliver that experience. CEDIA can help bridge this gap by supporting integrators in their quest to add to their knowledge and skill-set. I look forward to helping all of them evolve in an organised manner, which will result in a win-win situation for CEDIA professionals and end-users.”
