CEDIA has announced several changes to its 2019 programme of educational courses which includes an updated Boot Camp course.
The five-day Boot Camp course is aimed at integrators new to the industry or who have little experience in the field and are looking to develop basic skills needed to get started in the industry and meet the necessary requirements.
Taught by CEDIA Certified Instructors, the course includes classroom learning as well as hands-on training and teaches the engineering and technical foundations needed to go on to CEDIA’s five-day Technical School and the ESC-T certification exam.
Constantly being revised reflecting the fast-moving industry, the course has been updated for this year’s programme with the addition of a one-day course dedicated to testing, measurement and troubleshooting techniques.
This course covers what to do when commissioning systems and how to deal with problems during installation. It demonstrates troubleshooting methods and best practices, electrical system measurements integrators would use in their day-to-day operations, as well as hands-on use of test equipment.
Another new addition to the Boot Camp is an Electronic and Science Skills day, providing attendees with training in the typical maths, science and electronics that integrators will have to use in the home technology market.
Overall, the five-day Boot Camp covers Electronic and Science Skills; Cables, Connectivity and Structured Wiring; Testing, Measurement and Troubleshooting Techniques; Audio, Video and RF Systems for Integrators; and Health and Safety.
The sessions can be booked individually or are available as a package. Dates for courses are:
• 11th-15th March
• 13th-17th May
• 23rd-27th September
• 18th-22nd November
The course is available to book for £799 + VAT for members, and £1,199 + VAT for non-members.
