Education remains at the heart of CEDIA and, following the success of ISE 2016, CEDIA has seen an increase in the number of people attendees its training sessions. In order to manage this influx of interest, CEDIA is urging members to pass their knowledge on to up-and-coming home technology professionals by becoming a qualified CEDIA instructor.
Volunteering as an instructor is open to any CEDIA member with a strong understanding of the home technology industry. As an instructor, members will be given a valuable platform on which they can share their knowledge, mentor, provide advice and become recognised as an expert within their individual field.
“CEDIA is very fortunate to have such an impressive selection of instructors, but we are always looking for the next generation of instructors and are excited to welcome new members to the team,” says Wendy Griffiths, CEDIA EMEA’s Operations Director. “As well as educating the industry’s up-and-coming talents, being a CEDIA instructor can also be a useful tool for promoting your business and knowledge to prospective clients. Whether applicants have taught for CEDIA in the past or not, we encourage anyone who has an interesting in improving and widening the industry’s knowledge to become a CEDIA instructor.”
CEDIA instructors across the EMEA region also have the opportunity to lead training sessions within 10 international countries, including France, Spain and India, as well as three training centres in the UK, including CEDIA EMEA HQ in Cambridge. In addition to this, CEDIA members have the chance to be part of CEDIA’s education team at ISE and lead a home technology talk at the renowned international event. The deadline to be considered as a speaker for ISE 2017 is August 2016.
Through CEDIA Outreach Instructor training courses, CEDIA helps prospective instructors learn the basic skills necessary to deliver an effective presentation as well as ensuring each instructor has a clear and comprehensive understanding on the respective course. The next CEDIA Outreach Instructor course is the RIBA accredited CEDIA CPD course, Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes, on Thursday 19th May, 2016 at AWE, Epsom. Each session concludes with a practice presentation by each attendee.
