With ISE 2022 less than two months away, CEDIA has announced its plans to deliver a comprehensive, in-person professional development programme to its visitors from around the world.
As the show is taking place in Barcelona, ISE attendees will have the opportunity to take CEDIA training courses in Spanish too. CEDIA examinations will also be available to take at the show to allow integrators to earn the ‘Cabling & Infrastructure Technician (CIT)’ or ‘Integrated Systems Technician (IST)’ certifications.
Two major highlights from the programme will be the ‘HAA Audio Calibration’ course, taking place from 31 January until 3 February, and the ‘ISF Video Calibration Level 2’ course, taking place on 31 January and 1 February. The ‘HAA Audio Calibration’ course will be presented by founder of Home Acoustics Alliance, Gerald Lemay, while Joel Silver, owner of ISF, will take the ‘ISF Video Calibration Level 2’ training.
New for ISE 2022 and created to support the release of the new RP22 standard will be the ‘RP22 Audio and Room Design Recommended Practice Workshop’, presented by Peter Aylett and Rich Green on 1 February. This intensive advanced training introduces the new guidelines in RP22, focusing in on the four objectively defined levels of performance that will define different levels of immersive experience. Taking a ‘teach then do’ approach, the course will challenge small groups to apply guidelines to real-world rooms.
‘CEDIA/CTA-RP28 HDMI System Design and Verification Recommended Practice’ is another recommended practices course that is also new for ISE 2022. Hosted by Jason Dustel of Murideo, the course will look in detail at this new standard and its implications for the CEDIA community.
For those looking at a mindset shift, ‘Design Thinking’ will be an immersive three-hour workshop where participants will learn and practice and end-to-end design thinking process. Industry experts, Peter Aylett and Rich Green will be guiding attendees through the session, providing integrators with the tools they need to unlock creative confidence and bring a more human-centric approach into their business.
Back by popular demand, respected industry business consultant and CEDIA fellow, Leslie Shiner will present four courses, exploring challenges with project management, job costing, ways to increase profitability and how training can grow a business.
A special session will also be led by the CEDIA Tech Council, revealing insights from CEDIA’s recent future-looking project, ‘The Integrator of 2027’. This will take a look at how the market is changing and how integrators can be best placed to take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
“The long-term success of our industry is reliant upon a well-trained and professional workforce,” said Matt Nimmons, CEDIA EMEA’s managing director. “At ISE 2022, we have put together a terrific training programme of 37 courses that will help our community grow their skills and make sure integrators can be at the top of their game, whatever technical or business challenges are coming down the line. Thanks to our All-Access Training Pass, these training courses are also great value for money.”
The CEDIA All Access Training Pass is available to both CEDIA members and non-members and provides unlimited entry to CEDIA education sessions during the show (excluding CEDIA Special Two Day courses). The All-Access Training Pass is available for pre-booking at an exclusive early bird rate of €230 for members and €300 for non-members. Alternatively, individual courses can be booked for those with limited time.
Connection Hour
After having limited face-to-face connections over the last two years, CEDIA is hosting a Connection Hour every day on the CEDIA booth from 5pm to celebrate being back together. It will be an ideal opportunity to network with industry peers and share highlights from the day. It also gives members the opportunity to meet with CEDIA’s new CEO, Daryl Friedman.
AV Career Day
This year, CEDIA will again join forces with AVIXA in support of AV Career Day on Wednesday 2 February where outstanding students and educators are invited to learn more about the industry. Those students attending the day will receive a tour of ISE, participate in panels and content conferences and network with AV professionals.
