On the 23rd July 2014, AMX Europe’s Will Turney, Charlie Sullivan, Laurens De Baere, Guillaume Le Royer, James Hewett, together with Sales Director Jonathan Mangnall and Kevin Morrison, Executive Vice President, Global Sales, will embark on a gruelling 265-mile bike ride from London to Paris. Departing from central London, they will wind their way through the English and French countryside, clocking up in excess of 60 miles per day, before cycling up the Champs Elysées and rounding the Arc de Triomphe, to finish in Paris on Saturday 26th July.
This epic cycle-ride is being undertaken in aid of a cause that is close to AMX’s heart, and one that is closely aligned with the AV industry as a whole this year. Sense is a national organisation that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind, Sense provides tailored support, advice and information as well as specialist services to all deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them.
The London to Paris bike ride is just one of a series of challenges that AMX staff across Europe will be undertaking this year, all in the name of Sense. From half marathons, to 52 mile ridge walks, to the London to Brighton bike ride, plus a 24 hour cycle race in Le Mans and not to mention the infamous Tough Mudder, the hardcore obstacle course designed to test the toughest of the tough!
It is the company’s aim to raise as much money as possible to fund the creation of the all-important sensory rooms. These darkened spaces provide a vital resource, enabling deafblind individuals and small groups to benefit from the use of cause and effect’ equipment such as interactive bubble tubes, water beds, small sensory toys and various types of interactive lighting.
